Meet Mr Wills
Welcome to Mr Wills' 5th Grade at Odyssey Charter School!
I'm excited to partner with you and your family for an amazing year of learning, growth, and adventure. Fifth grade is a year filled with new opportunities, greater independence, and exciting challenges, and I can't wait to experience that journey alongside my students.
Although this is my first year as a full-time classroom teacher, teaching has been a lifelong dream. Before entering education, I spent more than 25 years working in business, technology, real estate, and restaurant ownership. To pursue my passion for teaching, I earned a Master's Degree in Elementary Education, and I'm excited to bring both my professional experience and educational training into the classroom.Β
My goal is to create a classroom where students feel safe, challenged, encouraged, and inspired to become the very best version of themselves.

We believe every school day is a new adventure. We'll explore great books, solve challenging math problems, investigate science, discover history, and learn from one another. Most importantly, we'll develop the character and habits that will help us succeed both in school and in life.

These five principles guide everything we do in Room 231. They remind us that success isn't just about what we learnβit's also about the kind of people we become.
My hope is that every student leaves Room 231 not only with stronger academic skills, but also with greater confidence, curiosity, and character than when they walked in on the first day.Β
A Few Fun Facts About Mr Wills
π§ I love adventures. Whether it's traveling, exploring new places, or learning something new, I believe life is one big adventure.
π I used to own a restaurant. Before becoming a teacher, I owned and operated an Italian restaurant for several years.
π» I've worked in technology and business. I enjoy solving problems, improving systems, and finding creative ways to make things better.
π Reading opens new worlds. One of my favorite things is discovering a great book and sharing it with others.
𧩠I enjoy puzzles and challenges. Brain teasers, strategy games, escape rooms, and jigsaw puzzles are some of my favorite hobbies.
ποΈ I love the outdoors. Utah is an incredible place to hike, explore, and enjoy nature.
π― My favorite part of teaching is watching students discover that they can do hard things and become more confident in themselves.
