Fine Arts: Inspiring Creativity, Expression, and Confidence
The Fine Arts help students develop creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and self-expression. Through experiences in dance, theatre, music, visual arts, and media arts, students learn to create, perform, reflect, and connect their learning to the world around them.
The arts encourage students to explore new ideas, communicate in meaningful ways, appreciate diverse cultures, and build the confidence to express themselves creatively. These experiences help students become innovative thinkers, effective collaborators, and lifelong learners.
What Will My Child Learn?
💃 Dance
Students use movement to express ideas, emotions, and stories while developing coordination, creativity, and confidence. They learn to create original movement, perform with purpose, reflect on performances, and appreciate dance from different cultures and communities.
Students will learn to:
Create original movement and dance sequences.
Perform with expression, coordination, and confidence.
Observe and discuss dance performances thoughtfully.

🎠Drama & Theatre
Students develop communication, creativity, and collaboration through acting, storytelling, and performance. They learn to create characters, perform for an audience, reflect on performances, and understand how theatre helps tell meaningful stories.
Students will learn to:
Create original dramatic performances.
Perform using voice, movement, and expression.
Analyze and discuss theatrical performances.
Explore how theatre reflects history, culture, and human experiences.
🎵 Music
Students explore rhythm, melody, harmony, and musical expression through singing, playing instruments, listening, and performing. They learn to appreciate how music connects people across cultures and throughout history.
Students will learn to:
Create and improvise music.
Sing and perform with confidence and accuracy.
Listen carefully and respond thoughtfully to music.
Understand how music connects people, cultures, and communities.
🎨 Visual Arts
Students express ideas through drawing, painting, sculpture, design, and other artistic techniques. They develop artistic skills while learning to analyze artwork and appreciate artists from a variety of cultures and time periods.
Students will learn to:
Create original artwork using a variety of materials and techniques.
Present and reflect on their artistic work.
Analyze artwork using the elements and principles of art.
Explore how art reflects cultures, ideas, and important events.
🎥 Media Arts
Students use technology to communicate ideas through digital storytelling, photography, video, animation, and multimedia projects. They learn to create responsibly while evaluating how media influences people and society.
Students will learn to:
Create digital media projects using a variety of tools.
Plan, produce, and share digital creations.
Analyze media messages and creative techniques.
Explore how media shapes culture and communicate responsibly.

The Fine Arts help students discover that creativity is a powerful way to learn, communicate, and connect with others. Throughout the year, students create original work, perform and present their ideas, reflect on artistic experiences, and explore how the arts enrich communities around the world.
By participating in the arts, students develop confidence, perseverance, collaboration, creative problem-solving, and an appreciation for diverse perspectives.
