My name is Mrs. Thompson, and I am a 5th grade teacher at Yutan Public Schools. This will be my fourth year teaching in Yutan, and my 16th year in education. I am eager and proud to teach the wonderful 5th graders in Yutan. Creating positive relationships with students, parents, and the community is the greatest reward in the teaching profession. I am thrilled to be surrounded by the tradition and success of such a wonderful school system!

I grew up in central Nebraska and graduated from Minden High School in 2006. In 2010, I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with majors in Elementary Education K-6 and Special Education K-6. In 2012, I earned my Masters of Arts in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from UNK. Prior to teaching here in Yutan, I taught 4th grade at Holdrege Public Schools for three years before teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades in Millard Public Schools at Aldrich Elementary for eight years.

I married my husband, Jake, in August of 2015. We settled into Yutan, Jake's hometown, and have enjoyed becoming a part of the community. We have four wonderful children who bring us joy and continue to keep us busy. Klara is 9, Joel is 7, Taylor is 6, and Drew is 3.
