Classes offered for the 2025-26 School Year:
Geometry - prerequisite: Algebra 1 required
Algebra 1 - prerequisite: Pre-algebra or 8th Grade Math
6th Grade Saxon - prerequisite: 5th Grade Math
Geometry with Prentice Hall Geometry – California
This rigorous, full-year, college-prep course introduces students to fundamental concepts in geometry: reasoning and proof, parallel and perpendicular lines, congruent triangles, relationships within triangles, quadrilaterals, similarity, right triangles and trigonometry, transformations, area and volume, circles. Students develop their critical reasoning skills, learn proper use of graphing calculators, and begin to use postulates and theorems to justify their mathematical reasoning. Includes options for students to justify their solutions and analyze the reasoning of others, equipping them with peer review skills applicable to subsequent mathematics courses and analytical career paths.
Prerequisites: successful completion of algebra 1, no exceptions
Required materials:
· Textbook: Prentice Hall Geometry – California
· Scientific or Graphing Calculator: Highly recommend TI-84
· Ruler, Compass, and Protractor
· Notebook, graphing paper, pencils
Algebra 1 with Saxon
This full-year course introduces students to variables, algebraic expressions, equations, inequalities, functions, and their multiple representations. Students develop the ability to select one appropriate approach among many to solve problems, demonstrate appropriate use of calculators, and communicate mathematical ideas clearly. Includes options for students to justify their solutions and analyze the reasoning of others, equipping them with peer review skills applicable to subsequent mathematics courses and analytical career paths.
Prerequisites: successful completion of pre-algebra or 8th grade math
Required materials:
· Textbook: Saxon Algebra 1, 3rd edition
· Scientific or Graphing Calculator
· Notebook
· Pencils
6th Grade math with Saxon 7/6
This full-year course expands on previously learned concepts including decimals, fractions, number lines, measurement, area, perimeter, volume, place value, solid figures, percent, ratio, unit conversion, probability, angles, coordinates. Students develop the ability to select one appropriate approach among many to solve problems and communicate mathematical ideas clearly. Includes options for students to justify their solutions and analyze the reasoning of others, equipping them with peer review skills applicable to subsequent mathematics courses and analytical career paths.
Prerequisites: successful completion of 5th grade math
Required materials:
· Textbook: Saxon Math 7/6 Homeschool Student Edition, 4th edition
· Notebook
· Pencils
