Each class, every student has a job to help their table. The job wheel rotates every week so everyone gets a chance to try each job.
Gopher - Gets and returns supplies
Collector - Passes out and collects artwork
Table Master - Cleans the table, throws away scraps
Floor Patrol - Checks the floor and cleans up messes
Each class has a button with their class code on it. The number represents grade level, and the letter their teacher's last initial.
When a class, as a whole, has been
engaged
kind
responsible
safe
respectful
their class button gets moved up the ladder.
When the button reaches the top, the next art class is an Art Party!
Effort, attitude, and craftsmanship are very important to any artist.
Students are encouraged to check their work against the craftsmanship chart before they say they are done. Their work should be
neat
complete
well taken care of
their best work
When students go above and beyond the class expectations, or show a great improvement, they can earn a Brag Bracelet! Examples of these exceptional activities might be cleaning up a mess the student did not make, caring for a friend who is upset, sharing a fabulous answer in class disucssion, or mastering a skill they were struggling with.
These bracelets have various positive qualities and famous artists on them. The student can decorate their bracelet, wear it, and show their teacher and family what a great Art class they had that day!
It is important to note that the "Brag" in Brag Bracelet does not mean that we show off our bracelet and make others feel bad. Not every student will get one each class, and there may be classes where no student receives one.
