GRADING

Students' math grades will come from 2 main categories:

• Weekly assessments

• IXL.com skills assigned (one grade per unit)

QUIZ MAKE-UPS

All students are encouraged to make up any missed problems on weekly assessments. This helps them reflect upon their mistakes and pursue mastery towards the standards, in addition to raising their grade.

There are many behaviors and factors that contribute to success in math class. This will not count as a grade, but can provide insight into a student's progress.

Every 4.5 weeks, students will assess themselves on their own math behaviors such as:

• Math talk - asking questions, explaining thinking & reasoning

• Math practices - see descriptions at right

• Group work - cooperative

• Independent work - task initiation, perseverance

• Classroom behavior - on-task, participation, focus

• Check YOUR Understanding problem completion

• IXL Completion & Growth
