This course is designed to teach novice proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening through active participation. It is an academic college preparatory course with emphasis on practical writing, conversation in Spanish, and an introduction to Hispanic culture. Students will achieve a beginner skill level in day to day conversational Spanish and be able to ask and answer appropriate questions necessary to daily life in a Spanish speaking environment. Students will be able to read and analyze written material, write various short compositions using correct spelling and grammar, and expand his or her vocabulary to be able to communicate in Spanish.

Students will use Google Classroom as a resource for when they are absent and they are expected to access the work that they missed during their absence.
