Final grade % will be based on the following scale:
100 - 90 A 89 - 80 B 79 - 70 C 69 - 60 D 59 - 0 F
Semester grades will be calculated as follows:
Classwork = 15% Homework = 15%
Quizzes & Tests = 20% Notebook checks = 15%
Oral Presentations = 15%
Final Exam = 20%
If a student has more than 10 absences, they may not receive credit for the course.
Violations of academic integrity (aka cheating) include things such as: copying the work of peers, plagiarizing, cheating on exams, submitting others work, and/or using phone for any of the above mentioned things. Students who violate the academic integrity of the class will receive a zero on the specified assignment. Parents will be notified and the incident will be documented.
Repeat offenders will be referred to the administration office.
Students are required to participate in the class activities and assignments. When homework is assigned, it will be due at the beginning of class on the due date given. Due dates for projects, presentations, and big assignments will be given with plenty of time to complete successfully.
COVID related absences: : All assignments will be posted and submitted in Google Classroom. Students are responsible for staying on top of these assignments during their absence and not wait until they return.
Students will be given the opportunity to make up assignments that they missed or failed to turn in by the due date given. It is the students’ responsibility to complete all bell work, notes, classwork, or homework that they may have missed. Missing work due to absences will be given the same amount of time to complete as the rest of the class.
Students have a maximum time of 1 week to submit work after the due date has passed.
For every day an assignment is late, there will be a deduction of 10% of the total points.
All Students will receive an invitation to join their Spanish class in Google Classroom the first week of classes.
Students will use Google Classroom as a resource for when they are absent. Students are expected to access the work that they missed during their absence and complete the work before returning to class.
Electronic devices should be silenced and put away prior to entering the classroom. Devices should not be visible unless the teacher directs students to use such devices for academic purposes.
Eating food and gum chewing is strongly discouraged in the classroom. Students are expected to keep the room clean.
Neglecting to do this will result in the loss of the privilege of having food or drink for the entire class.
