UDL Application Exercise
UDL Application Exercise
Universal Design for Learning was design to help the school system engage on a deeper level and conform to individual needs. There are three main aspects to the UDL system: Multiple Means of Engagement, Multiple Means of Representation, and Multiple Means of Expression. Finding the appropriate fit for each student is necessary to further their learning comprehension.
Below is an example of UDL. I have noted an assignment which I submitted earlier in the Educational Support program and transformed this assignment to be more inclusive.
This document is the original assignment I submitted for the Working In Teams course at Sheridan College.
UDL Application #1
This poster was developed in Canva to convey the tile of the movie that I conducted the film study as well as the release date and starring actors. Canva has many useful options for teacher to illustrate class material.
UDL Application #2
This application shows a Google Slide presentation regarding the same course material as the original assignment. It has been formatted to be more inclusive. Google slides can bring a different element to students and can be viewed multiple times for review if necessary.
UDL Application #3
To the left is a PowerPoint presentation which highlights the eight key characteristics of a team. PowerPoint is a great way to present ideas and lessons in the classroom setting. Students can use PowerPoint to submit and organize their work.
UDL Application #4
Click on the hyperlinked Quizlet logo on the right to discover yet another avenue regarding the same contents found in the original assignment. This is a fun way to help students engage and comprehend the course material.
UDL Application #5
The Kahoot logo to the left has a hyperlink. Click on it to find a fun game that will teach you about the 4 stages of a group process. This was part of the assignment I completed. Kahoot is a great resource to add as a supplement in class. It helps to reinforce lesson taught in class.
UDL Application #6
Podbeam is a an app. that allows you to record audio. It is great for people on the go. It can be accessed through your smartphone, tablet and computer. It is a fun tool. Click on the Podbeam logo to the right which will guide you to an audio recording I did. The recording covers the summary of my original assignment. I hope you enjoy it.
