Kelsey Hays

Qualifications: I have completed a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Science conjoint degree at the University of Auckland. I then completed my Graduate Diploma of Teaching at Auckland College of Education.

Experience: I have taught Commerce for twenty years all bar one at Mount Roskill Grammar School. I have had leadership roles within the department as Head of Junior Business and Accounting for the last fifteen years. I have also had other leadership roles as an Academic dean across the school.

Why I teach my subject: I enjoyed the subject of Accounting at school and University and am passionate about seeing my students achieve well. I like the fact that students can check the correctness of their answers and know whether they are correct at the end of a task which is not always the case with other subjects.

Why I teach at MRGS: The students. I enjoy seeing my students succeed both in and out of the classroom and particularly enjoy coaching the Hockey 1^st XI Boys. I also like working alongside my colleagues who are equally passionate about the Commerce field.
