About Mr.&Mrs. Fitz's Summer Music Lessons, Band &Jazz Program

Overview of the Program

In Mr. & Mrs. Fitz's Summer Music Lessons, Band & Jazz Program,  students can learn a new instrument or continue learning an instrument they already play. 

The program is for students entering grades 4 through 9 in the fall of 2026. 

• Beginners do not need any previous experience and will learn note reading and correct playing technique for their instrument. 

• Intermediate, advanced and expert students can improve their skills studying an instrument they already play. They can also learn a 2nd instrument. 

• We will put on a concert on July 8th!

• Lessons and rehearsals will be held at St. Francis Xavier Parish Center, 1 Elm Street, New Milford  on Mondays through Thursdays June 22-July 8

• Dress rehearsal and Concert will be held at Our Lady of the Lakes Church on Wednesday July 8. (Rehearsal at 6:15 pm, Concert at 7 pm)

Here is a list of the awesome instruments your child can study! 

• Woodwinds: Oboe, Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax

• Brass: Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone Horn, French Horn, Tuba

• Percussion: Snare Drum, Bells 

• Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Ele

Scheduling/Location

Lessons and rehearsals will be held Mondays through Thursdays, June 22-July 8 between 8:30 am and 2:30 pm at St. Francis Xavier Parish Center, 1 Elm Street, New Milford.  Click here for details about the schedule.

Students will be given assigned times to attend their specific instruction during that window. 

Dress rehearsal and concert at Our Lady of the Lakes Church on July 8.  Dress rehearsal begins at 6:15 pm, concert at 7 pm.

Getting an Instrument

In order to participate in this program, you will need to get an instrument for your child.

Beginners Need an Instruction Book

Beginner students will need an instruction book (costs about $10). Click Here for info about Instruction Books for Beginners .

Students with previous experience will not need a lesson book, instructional materials will be provided.
