Day 1: Introduction into Ancient Rome and Group Project
. We still start off the lesson with a video or presentation that will help the students engage into the time period of Ancient Rome.
. We will then have a class discussion about the introduction and see what questions the students have on the topic.
. Next I will have my students get out their laptops and have them look over the Google slides presentation. I will review their answers in real time and determine which roles they would like explore the most.
.Students will get into groups of 4 and I will assign their roles. Once the groups understand what role they have, I will go into more detail about the requirements and possible questions they should investigate.
Day 2: Research Day
. We will head to the library where students will find primary and secondary sources to use for their assignment.
. Students will be able to use books and internet resources to find all necessary information for their assignment.
. To help guide them I will provide a sheet with questions they may want to research. I will also provide them with websites they may want to visit. This will help the students decide who will look into certain areas.
Day 3: Draft Day
. Students will take this time to come up with how they want to present their projects.
. They will be given a list of approved platforms to make their presentations. They will be able to explore which platforms they like and pick.
. Student will next make an outline/draft of their project using Canva. It should clearly show which group member is doing what.
Day 4: Create
. This will give the groups the time in class to bring all members together to integrate their information into their chosen platform.
. They will be able to edit their projects and work on each members role in the presentation.
. They will get time to rehearse their presentation
Day 5: Present
. Students will present their roles in Ancient Rome.
. Student will be evaluated by each other and provide feedback on presentations.
