Health 9 Syllabus
Course Overview: Students will learn general health concepts including but not limited to, the health triangle, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, medicines, etc. Grades will be comprised of a combination of book lessons, tests, presentations, and group projects.
Missing Work Policy: Students have until the end of the quarter to turn work in for full credit, however it is the student’s responsibility to turn in missing work. I WILL NOT SEEK OUT YOUR MISSING WORK. Assignments will be marked missing until the end of the quarter, at which they will turn into a “0” in the gradebook.
- Presentations must be completed in the “Presentation Period” or a “0” will be assigned in the gradebook

Books vs. Computers:
- In the classroom, all book lessons will be completed using only the textbook
- The textbook can be accessed online via McGraw-Hill for completing book lessons
- Textbooks are NOT to leave my classroom under any circumstance
- Computers are not to be used until after Health book lessons are completed
Grading:
Book Lessons (usually 3 or 4 per chapter) are worth 10 points per lesson
Chapter Tests are worth 40-42 points per test
