My experience in a self-contained classroom consisted heavily of collecting data for their IEP goals with a minimum of 3x per week. As students transition to the general education classroom, collecting data on their participation and effort outside the special education classroom was crucial.
As a special educator, collecting data for their IEP goals highlighted students' academic and behavioral progress, identified patterns, and adjusted instructional strategies accordingly. Regular communication with students, parents, and colleagues is integral to gathering comprehensive information to report on the students ' IEPs.Â
