Classroom Rules
I was trained to use PBIS at my previous school, and I appreciate how the behavior is taught and expected and how it sets out expectations for the students. This also helps the students become more responsible and respectful.
Positive Reinforcement
Using house points to reward positive behavior.
Constant positive praise.
Sensory tools and walks.
Frequent movement and sensory breaks.
Instruction
Students will start with a mini-lesson in small groups(or during 1:1 based on students' needs).
Break out into small groups.
Provide personalized support.
Strategies
Phonemic Awareness: segmenting, syllables, decoding, deleting, manipulating sounds.
Phonics: letter identification and their corresponding sounds, blends, and digraphs.
Reading Fluency: daily reading practice according to their independent reading level.
Math Centers: Provide CRA practices and models to enhance learning.
