Throughout my professional semester, I was able to participate in a professional community. Each week, on Wednesday's, all student teachers and supervisors met to discuss possible strategies, techniques, and ideas for our classrooms. Developing relationships and collaborating with one another definitely helped to strengthen and develop our teaching practices and methods. Additionally, I participated alongside my Cooperating teachers in professional development meetings, team meetings, and school training exercises.
Throughout my student teaching semester, I interacted and connected with numerous leaders and teachers in the education world. I connected with district principals, superintendents, and teachers. Also, I connected with educational leaders and coaches from across the entire nation to help improve on my teaching style and add more strategies and ideas to my lesson plans. In addition, I used twitter to show off student work and keep the professional community up to date on what I was doing in the classroom. Twitter is such a useful and beneficial tool to use, especially for educators, and I definitely used this platform to my advantage!
