To access the Part Editor,
Click on a product
Click Edit
Click the Parts Tab
Choose one of these options
ADD - To add a new Part
EDIT - To edit an existing Part (click no part first)
COPY - To copy an existing Part (click on part first)
Use the Part Properties editor (Part Editor) to change the properties of any part in any product.
Parts can be overridden for this one instance by simply typing in changes or equations may be written to modify the part behavior - so as the product changes the part will change automatically.
Description was changed to Comment in V5.1.
Comments will appear on the Parts Tab, Cutlist Tab, Reports, and Mozaik Paperless Shop Apps.
To add or modify a part comment:
Click on the Object
Click Edit
Click on the Parts Tab
Click Edit to enter the Part Editor

Click OK
To change the name of a part, click on the part name and type in a new name.
Click in the description field to add additional part information.
Click on the Graphic Pat checkbox to indicate if this part will be visually represented.
Click on Quan to change the quantity of the part.
NOTE - set the Quan=0 to delete the part.
Click on the Equation Editor to change the width or length of the part. You can simply type in the new size (in metric) or you can write an equation that determines the size. For example, width of the end = 24*tomm (24" to mm)
or
Width of the end = d (cabinet depth)
Click the Type dropdown menu to change the part type. NOTE - this is an easy way to change the material of one part - for example, to change one shelf from the current material to glass, click on the shelf & change its type!
FUTURE USE - Will change the color of the part automatically for tracking with the Optimizer.
FUTURE USE - Specifies the number of edges to band.
Click the Edit Shape button to launch the currently selected part in the Shape Editor.
Click the Edit Operations to launch the currently select part in the Shape Editor at the Operations Tab.
Click the Edit Banding to launch the currently selected part in the Shape Editor at the Banding Tab.
Click the Part 3D Position button to change the position of the currently selected part in the currently selected product.
