A little snippet of my Contemporary Choreography for York University
As a choreographer, I celebrate the unique movement qualities of each performer, embracing a holistic approach that honours individuality and challenges traditional ideals of the 'perfect dancer body.' Drawing from my personal journey with chronic physical pain, I have developed a deep respect for the body’s resilience and adaptability. This informs my choreography, which prioritizes both physical health and artistic freedom.
I blend elements of ballet, diverse dance styles, and everyday movements to transform the ordinary into creative expression. I believe that life itself is a dance, where even the smallest gesture or breath holds meaning. As a mentor, I empower students to embrace their unique bodies, fostering a safe, healthy approach to movement.
Beyond traditional dance, I have collaborated with figure skaters, equestrian vaulters, and rhythmic gymnasts, exploring the distinct movement qualities of each discipline to broaden my artistic perspective.
