Hi, I'm Abbie
I am a passionate Canadian artist with over two decades of diverse experience in dance, specializing in ballet, acrobatics and contemporary styles. Introduced to dance at a young age, I quickly excelled, receiving training from esteemed institutions such as L’École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec, Ballet Jorgen, and the National Ballet School of Canada. I take pride in achieving distinctions in all my RAD examinations, including Advanced 1, and in all my Vaganova examinations.
I graduated with Cum Laude honours from York University’s Bachelor of Fine Arts Dance Program, specializing in dance and choreography, and received several notable awards, including the IMASCO Performing Arts Award, the Julianna Lau Award in Dance Therapy, the Dr. Harry Botterell Bursary, the York University Continuing Student Scholarship, and more. I hold my Acrobatique ADTA certification, leveraged by my background in competitive gymnastics.
In 2017, I was co-director of the AB Performing Arts Centre in southern Alberta and have guest-choreographed for various dance studios and figure skating clubs across Canada, contributing my creative vision to numerous projects.
In addition to my extensive dance background, I am a certified yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance International. Initially, I embraced yoga as a complement to my dance training, but I’ve since discovered its holistic benefits, enhancing flexibility, strength, and mental focus. I integrate yoga principles and philosophy into all my classes, emphasizing mindfulness, breath control, and body awareness.
True fulfillment for me comes from the positive impact I can have on others. As a dancer, choreographer, yoga practitioner, and educator, I aim to create art that fosters genuine connections and communication. My goal is to continually refine my artistic voice and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those I encounter.
