2024 RESULTS
The 4th annual Mount Afton Challenge was completed on January 13, 2024. The event was our largest and most successful to date.
Our goal is always to have a fun, yet challenging event while supporting our mission of funding local Mental Health and Suicide Prevention services. We hope that the broadened awareness of NAMI Cabarrus will help ensure anyone suffering, can more easily find help, support and needed resources.
Through our partnership with the F3 Foundation, the 2024 Mount Afton Challenge raised over $22,857. We are thrilled to be able to support the Cabarrus County Chapter of NAMI and the mission of F3 out of those funds,
Also, we want to pass on a huge congratulations to all of this year's participants. A tremendous amount of hard work was on full display during the Mount Afton Challenge by all the runners, ruckers and walkers. During the 2 hours of the event, 300 participants completed over 2,150 miles (laps). Great work by all, which was a great mix of first timers and returning participants.
We want to congratulate the following participants for award winning performances. Below are your 2024 G.O.A.T.s of Mount Afton.
Female Division:
Runner: Gatsby Goode - 15 laps (miles)
Rucker: Rachel McLean - 7 laps (miles)
Male Division:
Runner: Conner Gale - 18 laps (miles)
Rucker: Richard Sexton - 14 laps (miles)
The Mount Afton Challenge was born from a desire to make a difference in our community following the loss of a member of our workout group. A big thank you to everyone for embracing this event and allowing us to make an impact. Also, this event could not have happened without the full commitment of the men of F3 Afton and all the other volunteers. Thank you all for the time and talent from this group, which helped make the event a huge success again in year three.
Last but not least, we also want to thank our amazing sponsors for their partnership and generosity. The sponsors were a critical part of the event and success of our mission. Please take the time to click the button below to learn more about our 2024 sponsors and how you can support them!
Looking ahead...
We hope that you will join us again in January 2025 for our 5th year of the Mount Afton Challenge.
