2023 RESULTS
The 3rd annual Mount Afton Challenge was completed on January 14, 2023. The event was once again huge success because of you!
Our goal is always to have a fun, yet challenging event while supporting our mission of funding local Mental Health and Suicide Prevention services. We hope that the broadened awareness of NAMI Cabarrus will help ensure anyone suffering, can more easily find help, support and needed resources.
Through our partnership with the F3 Foundation, the 2023 Mount Afton Challenge was able to raise over $21,700. We are thrilled to be able to support the Cabarrus County Chapter of NAMI with the majority of those funds, as well as the mission of F3.
Also, we want to pass on a huge congratulations to all of this year's participants. A tremendous amount of hard work was on full display during the Mount Afton Challenge by all the runners, ruckers and walkers. During the 2 hours of the event, 150 plus participants completed over 1,350 miles (laps). Great work by all that accepted the challenge!
We want to congratulate the following participants for award winning performances. Below are your 2023 G.O.A.T.s of Mount Afton.
Female Division:
Runner: Heidi Graham - 13 laps (miles)
Rucker: Melissa Roth - 12 laps (miles)
Male Division:
Runner: Aaron Forsyth - 17 laps (miles)
Rucker: Chris Weedon - 11 laps (miles)
The Mount Afton Challenge was born from a desire to make a difference in our community following the loss of a member of our workout group. A big thank you to everyone for embracing this event and allowing us to make an impact. Also, this event could not have happened without the full commitment of the men of F3 Afton and all the other volunteers. Thank you all for the time and talent from this group, which helped make the event a huge success again in year three.
Last but not least, we also want to thank our amazing sponsors for their partnership and generosity. The sponsors were a critical part of the event and success of our mission. Please take the time to click the button below to learn more about our 2023 sponsors and how you can support them!
Looking ahead...
We hope that you will join us again in January 2024 for our 4th year of the Mount Afton Challenge.
