Sustaining a SIM Initiative to Improve Student Outcomes IN MONTANA

About

The SIM Montana Project aims to build capacity in SIM professional learning and implementation to improve student outcomes in Montana schools. Developing a self-sustaining SIM initiative in Montana is the primary focus with the ultimate goal of improving student outcomes. The initiative will support SIM Professional Developers to increase skills in delivering professional development and coaching in blended virtual and face-to-face environments, to create opportunities for SIM Professional Developers to expand their networks and school-based expertise with SIM micro-credentials, and to host a Montana SIM Update Conference..

Project Goals and Objectives

Goal 1. To renew and build capacity in Montana to support SIM professional learning and implementation to improve student outcomes.

Objective 1.1: Empower SIM Professional Developers to lead their own Montana SIM Initiative

Objective 1.2: Increase skills to deliver PD and coaching in virtual environments

Objective 1.3: Create opportunities for schools to grow in-house expertise on SIM Content Enhancement Routines and Learning Strategies

Goal 2. To scale and disseminate SIM in Montana to support teachers to implement evidence-based literacy practices to improve student outcomes.

Objective 2.1: Increase collective capacity to drive state and school improvement efforts to include SIM.

Objective 2.2: Establish systems, personnel, and fiscal requirements needed for Montana to sustain and scale up their SIM initiative.


The Educational Promise Foundation

The Educational Promise Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 corporation dedicated to supporting and improving quality education throughout the United States. The foundation’s projects have included educational scholarships and mentoring for students attending private schools, supporting after-school enrichment programs, providing funding for educational research and school choice developments, and supporting training teachers using effective, empirically validated teaching routines and tools.
