Trojan Marching Band

The MHS Trojan Marching Band is the marching ensemble of Monroe High School in Monroe, Michigan. The TMB performs at home football games, local parades, school functions, and represents Monroe High School in many other local, regional, and national events. Trojan Marching Band is a for-credit course that earns students a .5 PE credit towards graduation. The TMB rehearses outside of school hours and during the summer. There is a required marching band camp held in July that all members must arrange to attend. The band consists of five distinct sections that perform as one unit: winds, drumline, color guard, majorette, and drum majors. Auditions are required for all sections besides winds.

All students must bring the following items to all TMB rehearsals:

  1. Instrument/flag/batons

  2. Music, coordinate sheets, and other provided rehearsal materials

  3. Appropriate clothing for exercise, including close-toed, athletically-supportive shoes

  4. Pencil

  5. Water bottle

Neglecting to bring required materials to rehearsal may result in the loss of band member privileges, including the right to perform with the TMB, at the discretion of the Director of Bands.

It is the intention that no student be denied participation in the Trojan Marching Band due to financial constraints. If there are financial issues regarding the Marching Band fee, the payment plan, or any other concern, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Swinkey at swinkey@monroe.k12.mi.us. Scholarship is available to families with financial hardship.
