The Language and Cultural Services is excited to announce the launch of a new over-the-phone interpreting service through Propio Language Services to help you communicate with parents/guardians in a language they understand. Effective July 1, 2022, staff should access interpreters over the phone through Propio Language Services and will no longer use LanguageLine.

New features available:

• Over-the-Phone Interpretation + Third Party Dial Out. Provide the parent's name and phone number to the interpreter. The interpreter will merge the calls and if needed or help leave a voicemail.

• Propio ONE Mobile App (App Store, Google Play). Designed to help you access audio interpretation services without having to dial a phone number. Also available online.

What you will need to use Propio starting July 1:

• Instruction Cards contain your school/site account number and steps on how to use the service over-the-phone and through the Propio ONE platform. Please use these cards for your site specific calling instructions. Printed copies will be delivered to your school in August.

• Demonstration Videos of how to access Propio interpreters Over-the-Phone and through Propio ONE.

• Language List lists languages available from over-the-phone interpreters.

• Instructions - when you receive call from a parent walk you through how to add Propio into the call to provide over-the-phone interpretation.

• Pre-scheduled Calls Information for rare languages including Chuukese, Marshallese, and Zomi. The full list of languages and availability can be viewed here.
