Podcasts for projects

Reflections are a great way to tie up a unit of instruction and learning. Adding a "Podcast Discussion" can be the perfect venue for engaging learners while increasing enduring understanding(s) and accurate assessment. Use these suggestions and create your own!

1. Start with a project in mind. For example, students research (and write a paper) about a chosen career, historical event, or health issue.

2. Ask students to create a 'script' for a 2-3 minute podcast. It is meant to be short so the most important and pertinent information is included.

3. Remind them to rehearse and maybe do a few takes before they submit the final cast.

4. Post the assignment as a Question in Google Classroom.

5. Ask students to post a link to their podcast and a brief description. They should also listen and respond to at least two other posts. Suggest they respond to one with 0 replies before adding a second reply so all students get feedback.
