I come from the simple village Qaradaiya in Al Jazirah State, where people focus on earning a living. When I moved to the capital city, Khartoum in 2012, I discovered a similar life, but on a much larger scale. Life in the city demanded more. It required thinking big, moving constantly, walking, talking, and even running to meet your needs.
I never thought that one day life in Khartoum would be just a memory.
Photography began to grow as a passion of mine, a way to express how I felt about Khartoum. Through my camera, I captured the essence of the city – the chaos, the beauty, and the randomness that defined it to me.
This collection represents the last photographs I took in Khartoum from 2022 to 2023, before the war began on 15 April 2023. Each frame imbued with deep emotional meaning. To me, Khartoum is a mosaic of everything – random yet unforgettable.
