Pre-service Survey

Before we get started, the session have prepared a simple 3 question survey to help gather information on trends in how we are gathering at this time. We'd very much appreciated it if you would take a moment before starting the service to fill in the survey below.

Welcome, Praise & Confession

Psalm 36

For the director of music. Of David the servant of the Lord.

1 I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: s There is no fear of God before their eyes.

2 In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin.

3 The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good.

4 Even on their beds they plot evil; they commit themselves to a sinful course and do not reject what is wrong.

5 Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.

6 Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.

7 How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

8 They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights.

9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

10 Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart.

11 May the foot of the proud not come against me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.

12 See how the evildoers lie fallen— thrown down, not able to rise!

Sermon

Revelation 2-3 by Glen Perkins

Response Prayer

Dear Father, the Almighty.

Thank you for the trustworthy revelation of Jesus, your promises and decrees recorded in the Bible. Exhort and instil in us a deep desire to read your word, and by the quickening of your Holy Spirit, hear and obey it. Help us to always be ready for testing times in this way.

Please enable the Spirit's peace and grace to grow in our community daily. Help us to be comforted and emboldened knowing that Jesus is among us and interceding for us with the Father.

He knows our works, our thoughts and the intentions of our hearts. This should encourage and convict us to stick with Jesus and be fierce, as he is fierce, about the witness of his bride the church. Give us, your church, an awareness of the judgements and plans that are not your ways, laws and commands and turn away from them. Help us to be full of faith, truth, perseverance, endurance and abounding in good works for the sake of Christ. Help us to do this for the love of people so all may have the opportunity to know you and know what it is to be known by you.

Give us the view that death in this life is nothing compared to your coming judgement and that we have certainty of our victorious crown of life, reigning with you in your kingdom because we bear your name through Jesus.

To you God, be glory and dominion forever and ever; the Alpha and Omega, only wise God, who is, who was and who is to come! Amen!

Benediction

Jude 24-25

To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

"Go in peace to love and serve the Lord and your neighbour.

  • Church Directory - If you're on our database, you'll have received the regular email linking to this service material, and in that email you would have noticed the link to an electronic version of our Church Directory. We were hoping to distribute the paper booklet version a few weeks back but restricted gatherings have made that a little hard. We're also conscious that trying to keep in touch without phone numbers or email addresses is a bit tough. Please use the details in the booklet to reach out to people you haven't seen in a while and haven't been able to call... If you're having trouble accessing the directory via that link please email info@mlpc.org.au and we'll sort something out.

  • Maintenance update... The maintenance and painting work on our buildings is well underway. Below are some photos. We've had to trim back the trees - they were getting pretty close to the sides of buildings and the roof. Fortunately Halbe Stoker who is doing the work has a ticket to operate a "cherry picker". This has enabled him (with some help from John & Judy Williams, and John Dekker) to give the building a good clean and to quickly scrap away flakey paint. Repair of rotten timber and undercoating is underway. Rain is great... pray that it goes somewhere that really needs it! Pray also for safety while working for Halbe, and those from church who are lending a hand.
