Welcome!

start here...

Begin with these words from Psalm 139:1-12

1 You have searched me, LORD,

and you know me.

2 You know when I sit and when I rise;

you perceive my thoughts from afar.

3 You discern my going out and my lying down;

you are familiar with all my ways.

4 Before a word is on my tongue

you, LORD, know it completely.

5 You hem me in behind and before,

and you lay your hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,

too lofty for me to attain.

7 Where can I go from your Spirit?

Where can I flee from your presence?

8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;

if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,

if I settle on the far side of the sea,

10 even there your hand will guide me,

your right hand will hold me fast.

11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me

and the light become night around me,”

12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;

the night will shine like the day,

for darkness is as light to you.

We know that God knows us… We know he loves us… We know he redeems us… We even know that he’s with us… But I wonder how much we think of him being personal? He is personally with us by his Spirit!

Almighty God, we come to you today dependent on you. Please guard our hearts and prepare us for your eternal kingdom.

We look at the world around us and see its temptations. We see the evil and brokenness, and recognize our failings.

Loving father, we have sinned. We have believed the world’s empty promises and not trusted you.

We have loved ourselves and not loved you or others as you ask.

Holy father, you give us good things to do, yet we don’t always do them. Instead we do wrong. We neglect your kingdom and try to build our own.

Righteous father, we need your mercy. Forgive us we ask. And restore us, by the power of your Holy Spirit, that we might serve you.

Gracious father, we thank you for your son. That he died for us and takes the guilt of our sin. Thank you for your spirit, that we can come to you. Thank you that we are raised with Jesus, united to him, that we can be with you.

We pray this in Jesus name Amen

Brothers and Sisters, we’ve confessed our sin, hear the promise of God from Psalm 103:8-12

8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious,

slow to anger, abounding in love.

9 He will not always accuse,

nor will he harbor his anger forever;

10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve

or repay us according to our iniquities.

11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,

so great is his love for those who fear him;

12 as far as the east is from the west,

so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
