While this baseball tour started as a bucket list type of journey, I wholly recommend that baseball fans plan out their visits to the ballpark in such a way that gives you incentive to enjoy the ballgame.
GO TO A GAME WHEN YOUR FAVORITE TEAM IS ON THE ROAD!
When you have a favorite home team, it's best to travel to ballparks for which your favorite team is playing, otherwise, your experience may not be as enjoyable. You will find so many fans do this because who wants to see a game for which you don't even know who is on the team?
HIT THE CLUSTERS
Go to several ballparks that are within a good range from one another. Examples:Tampa Bay isn't too far from Miami. San Diego isn't too far from Los Angeles. Chicago isn't too far from Milwaukee.
VISIT A FRIEND/FAMILY MEMBER THAT LIVES NEAR A BALLPARK
While this never happened on any of the trips I made, it gives you a good reason to visit!
BALLGAMES TEND TO BE AT NIGHT, SO WHEN YOU TRAVEL, YOU HAVE THE ENTIRE DAYS TO EXPLORE, SIGHTSEE, ETC. BEFORE RESTING UP AND ENJOYING A GAME AT THE BALLPARK.
Plan your trip so that you're arriving in the afternoon and you can check into your hotel to drop off luggage, as ballparks have a no-bag policy these days.
