We support the whole child by nurturing each student’s growth academically, physically, ethically, emotionally, and socially. At Mistwood we find that each child discovers identity, fulfillment, meaning, and purpose through connections to their community, to the natural world, and to ethical values such as compassion and peace. We believe that social emotional learning, the arts, ethical education, movement, and school community events are equally important and should take as much of the school day as academics. 

We encourage curiosity and trust in children's natural love for learning. Finding fun and joy in learning creates lifelong learners. For the littles there are no tests, grades, or homework - so that each child can develop confidence in their abilities. Each child's interests and passions are encouraged and explored. Mistwood's teachers create lessons, projects, and assignments that students don't only learn from, but learn to love learning from.
