What's this about?

This is a legal agreement between you and missing the fire. If you download, install, or play any of my games, you agree to follow these rules. If you don’t agree, don’t download or play.

What I'm giving you

You get a limited, non-exclusive license to download and install the games on your devices (Windows, macOS, Linux, etc.). This license is just for you. You can't pass it on or sell it.

What you're NOT allowed to do

Sell, rent, lease or give the games away without my permission.

Make a download page for my software on other websites / applications without my permission.

Use the games for commercial purposes (videos and streams are okay, obviously!).

Mods and Fan Games

You're allowed to make mods or fan games using my assets, music, and textures, but with these rules:

Don’t sell them or make money off them.

Credit me for any music remixes or whatever. Example: "Music by Blash8".

I still own everything. You're just borrowing it for personal or fan use.

Who owns what

I own all the code, assets, music, and anything else in the games. You get a limited right to use them for personal fun or modding, but the ownership stays with me.

If you break the rules

If you mess up and break any of these terms, I can revoke your license. If that happens, you have to stop using the games and delete all copies from your devices immediately.

No promises

The games come "as is." I don't guarantee they'll run perfectly or without bugs. I'm not responsible if something goes wrong or you lose data.

No liability

I'm not responsible for any damages, data loss, or problems that come from using or not being able to use the games.

Stuff about different platforms

Windows

Games come as unsigned ZIP files. You might get a SmartScreen warning so just just click "More info" and then "Run anyway".

macOS

I don't want to pay Apple $100 per. year just to sign the games. You'll need to bypass "scary" Gatekeeper warnings by right-clicking the app and choosing "Open," then confirming again.

Linux

Support is experimental. Linux games are Electron apps you run with start.sh.

All your save data stays on your device. I don't have access to it.

Updates and changes

I can update the games or this agreement whenever I want. If you download or play an updated version, you agree to the new rules.

My rights

No matter what you do with your copies (delete, mod, whatever), I keep all rights to develop, update, and redistribute the games, including adding multiplayer or whatever else, whenever I want.
