Are McKinney Students Falling Behind?

The Data Says Yes.

Let's be blunt: McKinney ISD is failing to provide the same level of education as our neighboring districts.
The data is undeniable, and the time for excuses is over.

For six years, McKinney ISD ranked lowest in nearly every subject, every year for all grades tested.
That means out of roughly 120 possible lowest rankings, McKinney ISD achieved 105 of them.
This is 88% of the time.

Our students deserve better.

Elementary School

McKinney ISD Elementary's Alarming Failure

Across seven subjects, our youngest students are consistently ranked dead last, with only one exception.

Middle School

McKinney ISD Middle School scores still below pre-Covid levels in most subjects

MISD underperformed in all but two subjects: Grade 6 Math and Grade 8 Math. In those subjects, MISD was outranked by Frisco and Allen school districts.

McKinney ISD is at or near the bottom

MISD scored lowest in all subjects except Algebra I, where it scored in third place.

African American, Hispanic and Economically Disadvantaged groups continue to underperform compared to Asian and White students.

Since 2018, MISD has not effectively addressed the disparity between African American, Hispanic & Economically Disadvantaged groups compared with Asian & White students, leaving half below grade level.
