I have worked in the community college system most of my professional career; however, prior to working at EVC I worked for the CSU system in different counseling capacities. I have lived in Northern and Southern California, but now call the Bay Area home. I earned Bachelor's degrees from Chico State in Social Work and Spanish. I then earned a Master's degree in Social Work from CSU, Sacramento. Lastly, I earned a Ph.D. in Community College Leadership from Colorado State University. While growing up I always thought I would become an Immigration Attorney, but during graduate school my internship was at a community college, and that is when I knew that I was meant to counsel and teach in this system of higher education.
When I am not at EVC, I am busy with my other full-time employment- Motherhood! I have two young sons who keep me very busy with their extra-curricular activities. As a family, we also enjoy spending time at the beach and doing other outdoor activities.
