UNION: United Nations In One Nation.
Peace and Health Mission
World peace and health are possible if all individuals and all institutions of government, business, education, and religion, will seek to be responsible members of a world community, by promoting and providing equal rights for all persons on earth.
All citizens of the world desire rights of equal opportunity for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, as manifested by freedoms, that respectfully and fairly allow expressions of tolerant and just thought and behavior, meeting and movement, food and clothing, shelter and security, education and employment, marriage and family, religious and spiritual beliefs.
A democracy of equality will only be realized by a popular or direct democratic legislative and administrative government, which requires legislation to be enacted by a majority vote of all citizens. The challenges to a popular or direct democratic government will be made by people who know they will have the legislative and administrative power in a representative government, which is not a government of all the people, by all the people, and for all the people, because a representative democracy will always be determined by a minority of influenced voters, instead of a majority of independent voters.
A technologically advanced civilization is able to inform its citizens and to legislate by popular vote, using officially authorized encrypted individual identification with electronic voting devices, in private or public places.
If all nations of the world adopt the principles and declarations of the United Nations for their own nations, progress will be made toward world peace and health, and one popular democratic UNION, a United Nations In One Nation.
In order to achieve world peace and health, the interested nations and their citizens, who desire membership in such a world community, will want to determine how to balance individual rights and responsibilities with social needs that consider:
1. Popular or direct democratic election of representative government leadership, whereby persons who serve at the highest positions in all branches of all governments, are elected and not appointed, for limited terms, by all persons who are served by those governments and their offices, and who are eligible for dismissal by special elections, when public polls indicate a majority of voters have no confidence in them.
2. Popular or direct democratic election of administrative government management, whereby executives, managers, and supervisors in government agencies (including the judicial and military) are elected and not appointed, for limited terms, by all persons who are part of those departments and their offices, and who are eligible for dismissal by special elections, when public polls indicate a majority of workers have no confidence in them.
3. Popular or direct democratic governmental legislation, which reduces the legislative branch to a single body, restricts the function of elected representatives to legislative debate and proposal, and requires the majority popular vote of all citizens to enact any legislation, in order to oppose the obliging or intimidating influence of minority contributors on elected representatives.
4. Governmental regulation of the use and management of money, a commodity of government, which prohibits speculation and limits profit making of money transfers, in order to maintain a trusted and dependable system of monetary exchange.
5. Progressive taxation without exemptions, of all monetary and property transactions, that is uniformly collected from all individuals, businesses, and religious, political, and other non-governmental organizations, in order to prevent an inequitable ownership of property and power by individuals or institutions, and to maintain a fair and responsible debt free government with a balanced budget.
6. Fair employment opportunities and equal pay for the same work done, at a uniformly imposed full time minimum wage that allows individuals to pay for all necessities of living, including adequate housing, food, clothing, personal care, energy, utilities, health, education, communication, transportation, and taxation expenses, in order to make full time workers financially independent.
7. Governmental regulation of all business activity, regarding the production and conservation of all non- consumable goods by the manufacturer, who must accept the return of their commodities for recycling or disposal when they are no longer used, in order to limit waste production and to reuse limited natural resources.
8. Leasing of all land property, under terms of use by open and popular democratic government, rather than land property ownership by individuals or institutions, in order to maintain transparent land use and to prevent any private ownership or control of earth resources.
9. Leasing of all life property, under terms of use by open and popular democratic government, rather than life property ownership by individuals or institutions, in order to maintain transparent life use and to prevent any private ownership or control of life resources.
10. Providing universal access to tax supported education, health care, and social services, in order to enhance the well-being and prosperity of all people.
11. Providing universal access to tax supported birth control, in order to promote planned pregnancies and to manage population growth.
12. Reducing crime by liberalizing individual rights, in order to abolish penalties and imprisonments for private behaviors that do not interfere with rights of other born individuals.
13. Conserving mineral, plant, and animal resources, in order to provide for future generations, and preserving clean air and water, everywhere on the planet, in order to sustain life.
14. Refusing to diplomatically recognize and to economically, politically, or militarily support royal, religious, dictatorial, and other non-popular democratically constituted states, in order to give equal rights and justice to everyone on earth.
15. Requesting the United Nations to sponsor a UNION constituted nation, which invites member nations to join one united nation on earth, a world community governed by a popular or direct democracy, by affirming the Universal Declaration of Human Rights*, as unanimously adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948, in order to realize an inclusive world peace and health for all life on earth.
