Why Not? / What Now?
Earth: 3rd planet, about 4.6 billion years old, located about 8.5 light-minutes from a star, located about 25,000 light-years (half-way) from the center of a galaxy, located in a Universe about 13.8 billion years old. The Earth has an atmosphere, land, and water that have supported the origin and evolution of Life on this planet.
Universe: The Universe is continually expanding. Human life may never populate beyond the planet Earth, which is located where distances between stars in the galaxy average about 5 light-years.
Life: Age about 3.8 billion years on Earth. More than 10 million species of Life are living today (millions more species are now extinct).
Humans: An evolved Life form on Earth originating more than 2.5 million years ago. Current homo sapiens species is about 200,000 years old. Human population today is over 8 billion and is increasing at a growth rate about 0.8 % a year.
Purpose: The intent and extent, origin and meaning, of the Universe and of Life are unknown, and the reason for their existence will likely always be a mystery to Life that originates and evolves from Life.
Needs: Earth management of Life sustaining atmosphere and climate, food growing land, drinkable water, and non-polluting energy sources is essential for human life survival. Management of human population growth is critical.
Future: A continual examination by worldwide conversation regarding the reasons and consequences of human beliefs and behaviors is needed to answer questions related to the continuing existence and evolution of human life on planet Earth.
What will be human thought and action when humans accept the fact that they will only exist on the planet Earth?
What will be the meaning of human life when humans will exist only on the planet Earth?
What is the status of planet Earth and its Life sustaining resources after each human life cycle?
Will human life survive on planet Earth at the present rate of air, land, and water pollution, and the rate of human population growth?
How will the preservation and improvement of Earth and its Life sustaining resources be achieved to maintain the survival of human life?
Will the Earth and its Life sustaining resources be only for some people, rather than for all people, and for other Life forms?
Will human rights of expression, movement, reproduction, education, health, employment, property, etc. be only for some people, rather than for all people?
What political and economic systems, health and education services, and religious or philosophical beliefs are needed for humans to make the best Life sustaining choices?
What will be needed to stop everyone from wanting to fight or to hurt, or to possess or to control, anyone?
How might everyone want to love all others universally, instead of some others selectively?
Is it possible for everyone to want to treat all others the same as they want to be treated, or to do unto others the same as they want others to do unto them?
Is it possible for everyone to want all others to receive the same opportunities and conditions to realize anyone's needs and desires?
Is it possible to say to all others, "If I am given opportunities or conditions to have freedoms of self-determination, expression, privacy, and freedoms to vote, marry, plan pregnancy, and also freedoms to have life enhancing health care, education, employment, income, and even freedoms to own land, accumulate excessive wealth, evade taxation, have preferential powers or absolute control, etc., then I want you to receive the same opportunities or conditions I have, in order that you will realize those same needs and desires, if you also want them."?
Is it possible to have inclusive and integrated world peace and health if the opportunities or conditions for needs and desires are not the same for everyone?
What is everyone willing to give up, in exchange for inclusive and integrated world peace and health?
How much is everyone willing to let go of personal religious, political, and cultural beliefs, or of personal possessions and power, in exchange for inclusive and integrated world peace and health?
What is everyone willing to do now, before it is too late for human life to have peace and health on earth?
How might everyone join a worldwide conversation now, in order to hear and to help the needs of all others, for peace and health today and tomorrow?
What are the chances today that human life will make the choices needed to change human beliefs and behaviors, so that inclusive and integrated world peace and health, with ecumenical faith in Universal Love, will be healing and whole when Love is given by a golden rule way, which may be a meaning and purpose for living?
For an inclusive and integrated world peace and health, from an ecumenical faith in Universal Love, all people of the world will need to:
1. Let go of all religious, political, and cultural beliefs, and live only by the Golden Rule: "I/we will treat all others the same way I/we want all others to treat me/us." Opportunities and conditions will need to be the same for all people, in order to let everyone realize their individual needs and desires, within the same limits of rights and responsibilities for all people.
2. Legislate only by direct popular democracy that will regulate all business activity for transparency, cap all personal income based on work done, determine progressive taxation of all monetary transactions, prohibit real property ownership by every entity, and control all land and water use for equal access by all.
World peace and health will be achieved, and Life's self-serving curse will be overcome, if a majority of people desire to live by the Golden Rule, and are determined to figure out how this can be done, always building from the bottom up, and never from the top down.
Heaven or Hell on earth will be a reality, and the result will depend on the decisions we make about our will to live with or without the Golden Rule by a silent way (never speak for God).
There will be Hell on earth if we live by a self-serving way and we speak for God.
There will be Heaven on earth if we live by the Golden Rule and a silent way (never speak for God): I/We will only do unto all others the same way I/we want all others to do unto me/us and I/we will never say what is God's way.
Why fight? Why hurt? Why take? Why not love, or connect with and care for, all others? Why love only one or some? Why not love everyone? Why not love All One? Why love selectively? Why not love universally? Why not give Universal Love, or All that is One, by a golden rule way and a silent way (never speak for God)?
