Scrap to Steel is a 2D Top-Down Action/Crafting Game.
You are a dwarven blacksmith in a war-torn medieval fantasy world! Aliens have invaded, and the world's armies are locked in battle. Your job? Sneak onto the battlefield, gather scrap metal and broken weapons, dodge enemy attacks, and return to your forge to craft and repair deadly gear for profit!

When creating the weapons, there are:
3 Weapon Rarities - Basic, Fancy, Alien.
3 Weapon Types - Sword, Dagger, Hammer.
3 Weapon States - Perfect, Chipped, Broken.
When creating scrap materials, there are:
3 Material Rarities to each Weapon - Basic, Fancy, Alien.
3 Material Types - Base, Blade, Fabric.
I created these assets and put them into spritesheets, then imported them into Unity to be sliced and implemented. I implemented other art assets and menu UI in the engine, creating prefabs for the characters and item assets, and making the workflow of the artists and programmer more efficient for the time we had.
When the assets were in the scene, we thought it was hard to see them as it would blend too much with the environment. To solve this issue, I added a glow, bright blue outline around the assets which worked and helped players distinguish the pickable items.

I redesigned the UI for the blacksmith area, creating mockup UI and assets for crafting, upgrades, and repair mini game. This redesign focuses on visually fitting the theme and style of the game, as well as creating an interface that is easy to understand and follow.
