Mingo, WV. A wide-release movie with ties to Mingo County, Romeo Smokes Crack delivers a modern take on Shakespeare, but replacing the role of Juliet with crack cocaine.

While initially certified fresh by Rotten Tomatoes, reviews for Romeo Smokes Crack soured as the movie was released outside of the state of West Virginia. Delmarva Beaterman delivers a strong performance in the film, however, as a method actor, developed a chemical dependency issue throughout the production of the film and continues to remain in rehab to this day.

One high point of the movie is the original sound track, composed by local heros, Beat Willy. Rereleased tracks from 1995's No Matter, the Road is Life, such as "Cheese Sandwiches Across America" and "Genesis" enhance the movie with familiar grooves and catchy lyrics.
