Discourse on Exhibition - Making and Design at the School of Environmental Architecture (Borivali)

This elective is planned around the exhibition titled Exit Only, No Exit / No Entry, Entry Only at Gallery Project88, Colaba. The participants of the elective will look into the discourse around exhibition making- not as an end result of practice but rather as a semiotics of language of art and design. The participants will use the current exhibition as a case study and present curatorial propositions on the same. The process of re-proposing the exhibition will include designing the gallery space to a selection of works- further reflecting on the aspect of the practice itself- and questioning it critically. The process will bring in the designing of posters for their independently re-proposed shows which will also be screen printed. The process of screen printing will be introduced by CONA’s master print maker Shashi Kumar as an extension of CONA’s printing program. The elective will be partly conducted at Project 88 and at SEA.
