Mysteries are, in my humble opinion, one of the most compelling genres of book around. There is nothing quite like a "whodunnit" novel that keeps you guessing until the end. However, in my experience, it can be difficult to find a mystery novel that is both age appropriate and or intriguing enough to keep the reader entertained and speculating. Below are some of my personal favorite mystery novels that truly put my deduction skills to the test.
The Westing Game
When sixteen strangers are brought together for the reading of Samuel W. Westing's will, everyone is confused yet intrigued at the prospect of inheriting the eccentric billionaire's fortune.

Escape From Mr. Lemoncello's Library

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder
A compelling murder mystery told from the perspective of interviews, text messages, recordings, and articles.

The Inheritance Games

Holes
Camp Green Lake isn't your average boys detention center. Here the boys build character by digging holes 5 feet wide and 5 feet deep everyday for the entire summer. When Stanley Yelnats is sent to camp, he isn't sure how digging holes will build character growth or fix troubled children. But one thing is for sure, the warden is clearly looking for something and Stanley is going to figure it out.
