What is sound, and how is it media?

This session explains the terms sound and soundscape. Here we also examine how sound becomes part of media, and what media involves sound. Explain to your students what words we can use to objectively describe sound.

In this session your students will:

• learn about sound and soundscape 

• reflect on the function sound has for certain media forms, e.g. film

• learn to distinguish between describing and interpreting, as well as between information and emotion
