The Field Training Office (FTO) is responsible for ensuring new Probationary Deputies are trained, in an effective and careful manner. We strive for nothing but the best, out of our Deputies and especially FTOs. This is where Deputies are made; made into becoming the best they can be.

About The Role
Why Become an FTO?
FTOs are members of the Program who have completed the entry process which includes; Application, Interview, Exam, and Onboarding. Field Training Officers are responsible for conducting Stage 1 & 2 Ride-Alongs, alongside Certificate.

Application Requirements
Deputy III or Above
Must currently hold the rank of Deputy II or higher.
Good Standing with BCSO CoC
Must be in good standing with the Community Relations Office chain of command.
Advanced Deputy Training
Applicants must have completed and passed the Advanced Deputy Training
Discipline Check (Last 60 Days)
Applicant must have no discipline within the last 60 days (10‑90s or 10‑93s).
