Union Pacific has multiple commerative locomotives that pay tribute to predecessor roads that have merged into UP or pay tribute to organizations. Six of these engines are heritage units of predecessors roads and all are SD70ACe's. Union Pacific also has several locomotives that still wear schemes of previous railroads that merged into the company, such as numerous Southern Pacific painted locomotives.

In a very rare occurance where the NS Chicago Line saw two UP heritage units in one week, I drove to Elkhart, IN to capture UP 1982 Missouri Pacific heritage unit leading a westbound NS 23K.
I made the drive three days after catching UP 1982 to Goshen, IN on the NS Chicago Line to catch the UP 1989 Denver & Rio Grande heritage unit leading NS 205.
The UP 6367 Southern Pacific painted unit trails on a northbound NS 41G through Erlanger, KY on a snowy winter evening. While waiting about 7 inches of snow fell, almost trapping me at Erlanger for the night.
UP 6748 John W. Givens Plaque sits tied down in Carthage, OH trailing 2 of 3 on NS 25A. The leader than day was NS 8101 and the third unit was a UP SD70M, so a pretty good lash up and my fifth unit of interest duo. The words on the plaque are found below:
"For in unwavering commitment to safety, this locomotive is dedicated in honor of John W. Givens Foreman General North Little Rock, Arkansas. J.C. Kenefick Safety Award Winner 1996."
This one caught me completely by surpise. The UP Pink Ribbon unit trails 3 of 5 on a Westbound CSX Q131 through Indianapolis, IN.
