An Ode to Nigerian Dwarf Goats

By Cole Mikels-Carrasco

The wild goat is uncuddily.

The mountain goat is too big to sit on a lap comfortably.

The Siberian Abex is a showoff with its huge horns,

And the Markhor is more of a moose.

The Caucasian Tur is more of a buffalo,

And the Takin is more of an ox.

The only goat with superior intelligence,

Who has not forgotten its proper goatiness,

Who is lovely and cuddily and all out delightful,

Is the little Nigerian Dwarf.

Kyle the Hungry Cat

by Cole Mikels-Carrasco

There was a cat named Kyle

Who reeked of havoc and byle.

She ate all the food,

Which soured the mood.

She was a cat with such guile.

The Fishing Dragon Piett

by Cole Mikels-Carrasco

There was a dragon named Piett

Who ate all the fish from his net.

He came from afar,

Just to catch a gar.

But he got caught in his net.

Dreaded Fred

by Cole Mikels-Carrasco

There once was a dragon named Fred

Who wanted to eat lots of bread.

When he went to town,

All the folks did frown.

So he gobbled the folks instead.

King Tess Likes to Play Chess

by Cole Mikels-Carrasco

There was a wise cat named King Tess.

Who commonly was found to play chess.

He sat there all day,

As cannons blew away.

And left his kingdom in a mess.

The Weekly Bucket

Dear TK,

I can’t see a thing in this helmet and my aim is terrible and yet, here I am being promoted to an elite squad. What is going on here!? Does the Empire even want to win?

Signed, Anonymous Bucket Head

Dear Head,

I believe that you are not using your helmet RIGHT. All imperial trooper helmets are equipped with elite optical sensors. If you had paid attention in training, you would know how to activate them!!!

Dear TK,

Why is our armor so terrible? One blast from a rebel trooper and my friends are dead! I’m not convinced the flimsy white armor is really the best the Empire can offer. Do you have suggestions for ways we can improve the protectiveness of the armor?

Signed, Sick of getting wounded

Dear Wounded,

If you properly maintained and cleaned your armor it could take a shot from almost any type of blaster. However, I doubt you do, so my only advice on the subject is to get better at dodging.

Dear TK,

Besides the great tech, what good is the Empire really doing? I’m thinking of defecting, what should I do?

Signed, Prisoner #57689 of the Empire

Dear Traitor,

I am glad you got caught, but I would still like to explain all the good the empire is doing. We are expanding the imperial might throughout the galaxy.
