Ravens Flock Gets Stampeded In Baltimore
October 5, 2025
After heading into the 2025 - 2026 season as a Super Bowl contender, the Baltimore Ravens have fallen short of this standard, as they lost three out of their first four games. Needless to say, today's contest against the Houston Texans was a must-win. However, with many injuries on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, Baltimore was in for a very hard game. Some of these injuries included team leaders like quarterback Lamar Jackson, safety Kyle Hamilton, and linebacker Roquan Smith, who are well recognized as some of the league's best performers. This game was terrible for Baltimore. The Texans decimated the Ravens on both offence and defence, in a 44 - 10 victory. This deviating loss was not taken well by fans, as many negative outbursts were heard throughout the game.

Ravens fans, including myself, are at a loss for words to this poor start to the season. The Baltimore Ravens have experienced so much success as of late, topping their division for the last two years, and even making it to the American Football Conference Championship in the 2023 - 2024 season. With this previous success, combined with a good off-season, Baltimore was clearly seen as a threat within the league. Now, after this loss to the Texans, combined with a tough schedule ahead, Baltimore could be at risk of missing the playoffs, which would have never been expected.
However, fans can be relieved as Baltimore's bye week is in two weeks. This will give the Ravens the time to recuperate, and many players the required time to heal from their injuries. For instance, this is when Lamar Jackson should be ready to play in week 8 against the Chicago Bears. He is of big value to the team, shown by the lack of offensive production that was displayed against Houston, where back up quarterback Cooper Rush threw three interceptions. Until then, their biggest hurdle is to get past the Los Angeles Rams next week, on October 12. This will be a tough matchup for Baltimore, as the Rams have many great players, like wide receiver Puka Nacua and former Defensive Rookie of the Year award winner Jared Verse.
Hopefully, Baltimore can turn their season around. This task will not be easy, especially after starting the season with one win and four losses. However, it has been proven time and time again that anything is possible. Considering the team's high upside, Ravens fans should not lose hope just yet.
