The following Terms and Conditions outline the legal basis for services provided by The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd., registered in South Africa (registration number 2021/939342/07), and its Partners. By accepting any Quotation, Product, or Service from The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd, the Client agrees to these Terms.
- Project Specifications define the scope of Services to be delivered by The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. and its Partners, as chosen and paid for by the Client. The Client must clearly communicate the Project's details.
- The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. collaborates with various Partners to provide Services, and these Terms apply to all Partners involved.
- Prices listed on the company's website are estimates and may increase based on project complexity, document format, Partner price changes, tight deadlines, or other factors. Clients will receive appropriate quotes.
- The Client must provide all necessary information to The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. for an accurate quotation and efficient completion of Services.
- Clear communication of requirements and project scope by the Client is essential.
- Contact The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd and its Partners during business hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Communications sent outside these hours will be addressed the next business day.
- Communication will occur via email or a WhatsApp group for The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. and the Author, as all services are conducted online.
- Services are provided online; The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. does not provide IT support. Clients should be computer literate or seek help from someone who is.
- Documentation and information provided by the Client will be kept confidential per applicable laws.
- Clients must notify The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. of any deadlines before the Project starts. While efforts will be made to meet deadlines, some delays may occur.
- If a project is requested with a shorter deadline than quoted, full payment is required upfront before the project begins.
- Timelines are guidelines only. The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. will strive to meet the indicated timeframes but cannot guarantee completion within them.
- The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd is not responsible for delays beyond its control.
- Assistance is provided for the publication of written books, with no guarantee of income or royalties.
- Quotations are valid for 14 days from the issued date and may be extended at The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution’s discretion.
- Additional work or changes will be quoted separately.
- Any variations will require an updated Quotation for the Client’s written acceptance.
- After written acceptance of the Quotation, the Client must pay a deposit to commence work.
- 70% Deposit before starting
- 30% final payment before proofreading.
- For Editing services only, the total fee must be paid in full before the Service begins.
- An Invoice will be provided once payment is received and reflected in The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution’s accounts.
- The Products and/or Services described in the Quotation/Invoice will only start once The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. confirms receipt of the Client’s deposit.
- The deposit amount required to initiate work is non-negotiable unless agreed otherwise by both parties.
- Any payment made by the Client beyond the deposit does not grant additional rights beyond those specified in these Terms and Conditions and/or the Quotation.
- Payments must be made to The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution’s Business Account as shown on the Quote/Invoice, unless otherwise agreed.
- Payments made via ATM Transfer will incur a ZAR 100 surcharge for each transaction.
- The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. does not offer credit facilities unless otherwise agreed.
- Client accounts, quotations, and invoices do not imply negotiable payment terms.
- "Required Documentation" includes all necessary information for the prompt delivery of the Products and/or Services.
- The Client must provide all Required Documentation electronically to initiate work, unless it is to be created as part of the project.
- Ownership and copyright of the deliverables remain with The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. until full payment is made. Upon full payment, copyright will be assigned to the Client, excluding source design files unless agreed otherwise. The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. may revoke permission to use deliverables if full payment is not received.
- The Client guarantees that any information provided to The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution, including written works, images, and designs, is free from copyright issues and does not infringe upon third-party rights. All necessary permissions and payments have been secured.
- The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd is not liable for any loss, damage, or delay, including profit loss, unless caused by dishonesty or gross negligence. This includes errors in spelling, editing, formatting, or design after the Client has approved the final Product.
- The Client agrees to indemnify The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. against any losses or claims arising from third-party services, intellectual property breaches, or during service provision.
- After each Service is completed, the Client has a specific number of days to review the deliverable and submit any requested changes via email.
- Changes outside the original Project Specifications will incur additional charges and will be quoted separately.
- If no response is received from the Client within the specified review period, the Service will be considered complete, and The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. will not be liable for any errors thereafter.
- The Completion Date of the Project is influenced by Client feedback. Timeframes may be adjusted reasonably.
- The Client will be notified when the final Service is about to begin, at which point the Balance of Payment is due.
- Once full payment is received, all documents will be handed over to the Client, transferring ownership. The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. will keep copies for future use, but the Client is responsible for the completed work.
- Any adjustments made after the Completion Date will incur additional costs.
- Additional Work requested after the Completion Date will be billed separately according to these Terms and Conditions.
- Payment and timeframes for Additional Work will follow the same rules.
- The Client is responsible for establishing clear goals and specifications to avoid Scope Creep.
- The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. may suggest Additional Work and will provide a Quotation.
- Non-compliance with payment terms may result in legal action, and the full outstanding balance will be due.
- All legal costs from non-payment will be added to the Client’s balance.
- Cancellations by the Client must be communicated directly to The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. in writing via email.
- The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. may cancel the Project or Services at its discretion if the Client breaches any Terms and Conditions.
- Upon cancellation, any Fees for work completed will be calculated. If these Fees exceed what the Client has paid, the Client will be invoiced for the difference, payable within seven (7) calendar days.
- Neither party shall be liable for failing to perform its obligations due to events beyond its control (such as war, riots, epidemics, natural disasters, etc.). Performance obligations will be suspended during such events, with both parties striving to minimize delays.
- The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. can change these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior consent from Clients or Partners.
- These Terms and Conditions are legally binding from the publication date and apply to quotes requested and received.
- The Mia House of Publishing & Distribution Group (Pty) Ltd. is a service provider without an employment relationship with the Client, and these Terms do not create a partnership or similar relationship.
- These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and all related disputes shall be resolved according to such laws.
Mia Online Store – 7-Day Return Policy for Damaged Goods Mia Online Store takes pride in providing high-quality products and excellent service. However, in the rare case that your order arrives damaged, we are committed to resolving the issue quickly and fairly.
Policy for Damaged Goods. Time Frame for Reporting Damaged Goods:
- If your item arrives damaged, you must report it to us within 7 calendar days from the date of delivery.
- After the 7 days, we will no longer be able to exchange your goods
2. How to Report Damaged Goods:

- When reporting the damage, please provide the following information:
- Order number
- Description of the damage
- Photographs of the damaged item and packaging (if applicable)
3. Return Process:
- Once we receive your report, our team will review the damage and provide instructions for returning the damaged item.
- You will be provided with a prepaid return shipping label for the return of the damaged goods if required
4. Refunds and Replacements:
- After the returned item is received and inspected, we will offer a replacement (depending on stock availability).
- If the item is no longer available for replacement, a full refund will be issued
5. Exclusions:
- This return policy applies only to items damaged during shipping.
- It does not apply to items that were damaged after delivery or as a result of improper use.
- Please retain all original packaging for the return process, as it may be needed for inspection or processing
