Mackenzie Conn
I currently work as a registered nurse in the role of team lead at Sunnybrook Health Sciences centre. I work closely with interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality and safe care is delivered to our post-operative and transitional care patients. I am passionate about enhancing quality of family and person-centred care through the domains of clinical practice, education, research and leadership. My career goal is to work in the role of a nurse educator, as it embodies the characteristics of a teacher, leader and innovator. I often precept students and mentor new hires, and have the opportunity to share acquired knowledge by integrating best practice guidelines (PBGs), policies and research findings in practices.
Contributions towards Assignment 4 include describing the Delphi Process, strengths, weaknesses, validity Issues and the practical example. Our team worked collaboratively to discuss diverse perspective, edit, provide feedback and establish respectful, ongoing communication.
Shay McAree
I am from Sarnia, Ontario. I completed my Bachelors of Health Sciences Degree in 2016 at Western University. I completed the compressed time frame BScN program at Western and graduated in 2018. Since then, I have been employed at Bluewater Health Hospital in Sarnia. In 2021, I accepted a position as a Stroke Resource Nurse in the District Stroke Program and have found my passion for teaching. I have decided to peruse graduate studies to support this passion and enhance my abilities to provide effective patient and family education.
My contributions to Assignment 4 include describing the Delphi Process, and identifying strengths and weaknesses, and I collaborated with the team to develop the practical example. Additionally, we worked together as a team to edit the information and ensure that our webpage addressed all key aspects of the Delphi method.
Emily Shears
I am originally from Newfoundland where I completed my undergraduate nursing degree in 2022 and started my career as a Registered Nurse (RN). I am currently working as a travel RN in British Columbia and specializing in general med-surg, however, I have also worked in rural Labrador for a period of time working with indigenous communities. I am currently completing my Master of Nursing program with hopes to one day share my knowledge and teach future nurses.
My contributions to Assignment 4 include identifying when it is appropriate to utilize the Delphi process, assumptions of this method, and including a practical example as well as working with the other group members to edit and add additional information where needed!
