Will the event be rain or shine? Yes please dress for the weather
How many chaperones are recommended per student population? 1 chaperone for every 5 children
How will I navigate the event? Everyone class will have an assigned tour guide. That tour guide will meet the buses. The tour guides will escort the class through out the day.
I have chaperones driving themselves where can they park? The parking at MHS is very limited during the school day. We asked that chaperones park in the county park located directly behind the school.
Where should my bus drop off? Buses should drop off in the back of the high school. They will pull around the picnic circle to drop off the students. The buses will then park at an alternate location. An MHS staff member will be there when the buses arrive to communicate with the bus drivers and give directions.
Will the students be given an food items during the day? The MD VA Milk producers have sponsored cheese sticks. We will be giving each student a cheese stick snack that they can take home or eat during the designated station.
Do students need to bring anything on the field trip? Students do not need to bring anything. If it is a hot day we recommend bringing a refillable water bottle. Students are recommended to apply sunscreen and wear good walking shoes.
What will students be taking home with the event? Yes each student will receive a small goodie bag, will take home a craft and a plant.
Will there be restrooms located? Yes there will be a restroom available in the art station, additionally there will be 4 portable restrooms located outside of the animal station and greenhouse area.
Will there be hand washing stations? There will be hand sanitizer stations located at the animal area.
Is there a limit on parent chaperones? No, the more the merrier
