Class Reps & Volunteers

The PSA is run by parents and staff who volunteer to organise school events and other PSA activities.

Please consider volunteering, since your help is invaluable for the success of the PSA and helping the school community thrive! The PSA couldn’t do it without you! And it is fun!

How? There are three ways to get involved:

  1. Class Reps: A group of parents (at least two representatives from each class) are designated PSA class representatives (class reps) each year and work alongside the PSA executive committee to act as the link between the PSA and the parents and to support the implementation of some of the PSA events. The role of the class rep does not have to include liaising with the class teacher, facilitating the communication between the school and the class parents, or organising the social events of the class, this is optional, and it could be taken up by another parent of the class if desired.

  1. Helping at events. Parents help with specific tasks for individual events such as running the class stall for an hour or bake or bring produce for the bake sales, helps setting up or tidying up at events, etc. In general, the class reps will organise parents in each class to support the implementation of each event.
  2. Ad-hoc helpers and silent members. Other parents also volunteer to help with different activities like decoration of the halls for the fairs, or running the bake sales, or gardening, or helping with the Lollipop Club, etc. Some of these volunteers do it on an ad-hoc basis, and some take on a specific role on a systematic basis and hence are designated silent members of the PSA executive committee.

You do not have to commit a large number of hours, but even just one or two days a year can provide with invaluable manpower, time and expertise to ensure the PSA meets its objectives.

If you want to volunteer, even if you do not know how yet, please contact the PSA at mhps.psa@gmail.com, fill in the form below or catch one of the PSA executive commmitee members in the playgrounds. There will always be a way you can help while accommodating your time constraints.
