Hello everyone, my name is Herlin Ambarita. I am a chemotherapy nurse and have been working in the nursing field for 16 years. From the beginning of my career, I was assigned to care for chemotherapy patients. For me, chemotherapy nurses play an important role in caring for cancer patients, including administering chemotherapy drugs, identifying and managing side effects, providing health education to patients and their families, and providing the most essential emotional support to their patients. To be honest, at first, I joined the nursing program simply because it was my mother's wish. As we know, cancer patients tend to be more emotionally sensitive than other patients. From the very beginning, they are already informed by their doctors about the therapy and the challenging journey they will face. That’s why it’s so important to be very careful in how we communicate with and educate cancer patients. During my clinical rotation at that time, I witnessed my senior nurse educating a cancer patient shortly before the patient was discharged from the hospital. From what I observed, there were some words that were not appropriately conveyed, which triggered the patient’s anger. From that incident, I concluded that a nurse must be truly capable of providing not only proper care but also effective and sensitive communication.

Being a cardiac surgery nurse is a great honor, as this role is crucial in saving patients' lives.
Patients with heart problems often have high hopes for a successful surgery. With my dedication, patients have the opportunity to live healthier and longer lives.
This gives me deep inner satisfaction.
High and Specific Skills I learned specialized skills in understanding cardiac anatomy, the use of advanced surgical tools, and the ability to work quickly in emergency situations.
Not all nurses have these skills, so being part of the cardiac surgery team is an honor. Because the process of learning and honing skills cannot be done in a short time, not everyone has the opportunity.
Not everyone has the mentality and endurance to work under high pressure, such as in cardiac surgery. By being part of this profession, I hope I can inspire many people, both fellow medical personnel and the general public.
Being a cardiac surgery nurse is not just a job but a calling and dedication to save lives and give hope to many people.
It is an honor.
