HISTORY OF INDONESIAN NURSING - MAYAPADA HOSPITAL:

Indonesian National Nurses Association which was born on March 17, 1974, is present as a forum for the struggle to improve the professionalism and welfare of nurses. Nurses as the front line in health services since the colonial era which was started by Florence Nightingale when she treated wounded soldiers during the Crimean War and even founded a formal nursing school in London after the war, during the pandemic, the contribution of nurses is very vital in the development of national health to this day. The role of nurses is not only to provide medicine, install IVs, and others, but nurses also play a role as:

Providing nursing care to patients. families and communities, advocacy for patients and families, Communicators, Educators, Rehabilitators, Nursing Researchers, Collaborators

Nursing services to patients continue to develop, especially in Indonesia until in 2008 Mayapada Hospital was established to help build national health by acquiring the Honorary Hospital of Tangerang and changing its name to Mayapada Hospital Tangerang, until now Mayapada Hospital has 7 hospitals and there will be more Mayapada hospitals such as in East Jakarta, Batam etc.

Approximately 17 years of Mayapada Hospital nursing has contributed to improving health services both individually, family and community by carrying out community service activities outside of hospital activities such as blood donation activities, social services and others and Mayapada Hospital has received recognition and awards through accreditation both national and international accreditation. In addition, Mayapada Hospital also supports government programs by opening and providing BPJS services in hospitals. Mayapada Hospital Group Nursing continues to develop to improve competence in providing patient and family-focused care through improving internal and external education and training abroad and collaborating with foreign hospitals such as Apollo Hospital, National University Hospital and educational institutions such as Australian University and leading campuses in Indonesia such as UPH, UI etc. Currently, Mayapada Hospital nursing through the journal club has published several nursing journals.
